Ive been playing quizup for over a year and have seen the recent monetization attempts taken too far with ads and boosts. The actual quiz format is engaging and fast-moving. There are many categories and players. Quizup is dialing back a bit with adblock for $3 (forever, not 1000 days- it is a programming artifact), but still sell boosts that distort rankings and reward poseurs. However, you can still enjoy beating those whove bought fake rank, and the social feed forums are okay if you like that sort of thing. Its worth playing, so give it a try.

As someone who loves trivia, deleting the app was not easy to do. The constant ads frustrate you and make the game unbearable to play...

This app is so much fun! But very frustrating when I lose to my friends LOL

I dont like the app because of the advertisements. It never had them or maybe not as many but I gave it four stars because this app really is fun. I play it with my friends as a group night or even when were bored before we go to bed. Great app. But I could do without the ads.

I really love QuizUp but now the ads are ruining everything. Also, there is one bug that keeps happening to me. I change my profile picture and stuff but when I post something or go on my previous post, my old profile picture is still there. It just irritates me. Also the ads are getting ridiculous. I could handle like 2-3 ads but now they are going overboard with the ads. This messes up a rather really good game. Please remove this.

This used to be my favorite app I had. Would sit and play it and drink a few beers. Now theyve become so money hungry theyve lost sight of the customers opinions and bombard you with ad after ad after ad after ad. It honestly seems like every time you press a button another ad pops up and you have to wait for it to play thru to continue playing. Would not recommend it for anyone that doesnt already have it. There are many more out there

There a soooo many ads that it annoys me every time I try to play. I get and ad after each and every match! But besides that, when Im in matches I sometimes touch the stupid ads at the bottom of the screen and automatically get exited out of the game to go to the link!!! Which is frustrating especially if Im in a good match!

This used to be such a great game. I could rarely go more than two days without playing. Now, its nothing but ads and "bots". I know they added a way to get rid of the ads, but seriously? You didnt even have ads before and people are thanking you for giving them the chance to PAY to remove them. To basically have the same experience they were getting for free. Thats too much. Then, where even are the people? Every time I seem to open the app, which is rare now, I always get paired up with a bot. If I wanted to play with bots, I would. I liked this game because I played with friends and other HUMANS. If you need money, add things people would want to pay for: exclusive quiz categories, special prize tournaments that require an in game currency, a reason to use the in game currency, etc. I see so many games go the ad route and they just turn into garbage, like this did. I dont want to, but will be deleting this app as its no longer any fun. All you new people, have fun with the new stuff and paying for the experience we all had until the last update. Haha.

Can you add matches between more than 2 people?

Ok. I dont usually write reviews but I think that I have to here. I used to love this game so much; my friends and I used to play it every day against each other. But these recent updates have been, simply, trash. First of all, while this may just be a personal issue, I hate the single player mode. Its kinda pointless, and the idea of waiting for recharges on a game like this is just stupid. Secondly, I also hate the new black color scheme. I loved the red (pink?) color scheme that was on the app before the recent update. Next is an issue that a lot of people have commented on: the ads. I mean, what the heck? Why would you guys put ads on this game? Well I do know WHY ads were put on, but still, they absolutely ruined the enter playing experience. However, I do still enjoy the questions. The quality of the questions themselves is great. Keep that up! On the other hand, the entire rest of the game needs to be reworked (maybe to how it was about a year or so ago). Thank you.

Ever since the single player mode was added, I can’t make it very deep into a match before the app starts lagging and eventually crashes. It happens every single time I get to a high enough level, which has turned me off to playing entirely. It’s unfortunate, because I’d been a frequent user of this app for a long time and used to really enjoy it. It seems like a case of a developer trying to do too much (like turning the game into a whole social media network) and neglecting basic functionality. It’s not that I’m opposed to any and all new features—I’m just opposed to them when they seem to come at the expense of being able to keep the app open for longer than a couple minutes.

I used to really love QuizUp. Compared to other trivia games, it seemed to be not only more enjoyable, but also more mature. Other games were limited to childish categories and the screens were covered with emojis. I liked the fact that this was a more pure trivia. However, the creators decided to try and make QuizUp into a social media. Now, there are followers and a news feed that gets filled with random posts from people I dont even know. Not to mention the unbelievable amount of ads. I am very disappointed in the direction they have chosen to go.

This app used to be so good. The most recent update ruined what was the best trivia game.

I was so excited to play as I had heard great things about this app but the amount of ads is RIDICULOUS. Such a headache. I dont think Ill refer this app to my friends.

This was my favorite game until the advertising all over and between. Almost never play anymore because of it.

This used to be fun. They got rid of the search option that allowed you to find players, and covered the game with advertisements. In addition to the infinite ads, after every game they try to get you to buy something. I used to play a lot. Now Im ready to delete the app.

This app helps me with school and helps my reflexes.
